Question # 8
How do I know which key shows and events to attend? How do I know if they have worked for me?
Answered by Frankie Fox @ The Foraging Fox
Do your research and work out the key objective for each show, whether Trade or Consumer. Ask other producers, distributors and retailers which show they rated to meet these objectives.
It’s also worth being part of food producer forums. This allows you to get in touch with previous exhibitors where you can gauge if they rated the event as successful. It’s easier to measure success if the objective can be measured in terms of sales.
If the reason you are exhibiting is to meet key buyers, distributors and export leads, following up those leads after the show is as important as attending the show itself.
An increase in brand awareness is probably the hardest to measure but shouldn’t be ignored as an objective.
