What are the top tips for 2017 in the farm shop and deli sector?

Online purchases will continue to flourish & it’s better that artisan producers can trade directly with consumers, ensuring they make a better financial return, by not having to use a high street retailer as the middle-man.
Farmers’ Markets are still popular & it’s a bonus to talk face to face with a farmer about their produce. Particularly as buying local, offers inherent provenance, traceability & a lack of food miles.
Free-range continues to spread it’s net, even more than buying organically.
Keep an eye out for increasingly specific & artisan cookery schools.
There’s also a fight-back that needs to be supported, as butchers, greengrocers & fish & cheesemongers struggle to reassert themselves & wrestle some of the retail dominance away from the supermarkets.
Kombucha, the fermented tea is all the rage & surely something that tastes that bad must be doing us good?!
It really does feel that it’s working away in your stomach, making us more efficient in the food conversion department! Although it’s not for everyone.
