The Great British Bake off has a massive direct effect on retailers sales so it’s time to make sure you’re ready to make the most of GBBO frenzy.
Across the UK retail market the enthusiasm generated by the TV program sees impressive shifts in interest and sales in home baking. Last September, Waitrose reported a 12% increase in sales on home baking products and over the past three years John Lewis has seen an increase of 31% on sieves, 98% on measuring cups and 29% on whisks. Tesco reported nearly double sales in the baking decoration products during the 2013 series of GBBO.
So to start this year’s series we have pulled together a few tips on what to stock to create your own GBBO display and capitalise on baking fever as it sweeps the nation…
